Amid a world of billions,
Lives a maiden so rare,
With eyes that glisten like stars
In the midnight air.
No artist, deft of hand,
From Earth or distant Mars,
Could sketch a face more lovely
Than hers beneath the stars.
Though speech may never reach her,
She listens with her eyes —
A heart that feels each moment,
So pure, it never lies.
Can gestures speak of love,
With all its silent grace?
Or will their meaning fade
In time and empty space?
Yet love needs not a sound,
Nor words to find its way —
For hearts can speak in silence,
And still, the soul will stay.
